Throughout our time as a business, we have helped our team grow in their careers, become more confident in their work, and also help our guests feel good about themselves inside and out. With over 40 years as a small business, our story could not be possible without our guests – the women and men who continue to be a part of our story. hairetcetera salon & spa is a family owned business started by Constance Podeszwa. Constance, better known as Connie, became a stylist in 1957 and performed her styles on clients in salons and in her basement until she opened Hair Etc. in 1977. Her daughter Eva Podeszwa, now Eva Garza, started working in the salon with her siblings at the age of fourteen and later became a stylist herself.
In 1998, Eva became a partner with her mother as co-owners of Hair Etc, Inc. The salon’s last move was in 2000 to its current Seminary Street location and its common name became “hairetcetera salon & spa.” After over 50 years of styling, Connie retired in 2009 and Eva Garza became the sole owner of hairetcetera salon & spa. Connie’s guests still come to the salon today and speak about how her talent and love for the industry.
As a leader, Eva strives to support the hairetcetera salon & spa team by providing in salon educational opportunities as well as supporting travel nationwide to industry based conferences, seminars, and workshops. She believes that continued education is a foundational resource that everyone on the team should have access to. Although she loves her time behind the chair, her true passion is for helping her team achieve success.
Under Eva’s guidance, hairetcetera salon & spa continues to grow in its vibrant culture filled with passion, fun, and Steel Magnolia-like laughter. Her goal is for, “customers to feel comfortable when they enter the salon, to feel like they can trust their stylist and to feel like they are cared for by our team.” Every guest should leave hairetcetera salon & spa feeling confident, happy, and empowered by feeling and looking their best.
